November already? Seriously, where has this year gone?!
I feel like I say this every month, but honestly, I don't know where the time is going!
It seems like only yesterday we were welcoming our summer brides, getting excited about prom season and enjoying those lovely long evenings. Now the clocks have gone back, the evenings are getting darker, and I'm starting to hear that word again…
CHRISTMAS!
Before we get completely carried away with all things festive, I thought I'd sit down with a cuppa and tell you a little about what's been happening here at Not Just Brides in Westbury.
And believe me, there's been plenty!
A Golden Little Surprise!
October was a particularly exciting month for us because we introduced something a little different… our Golden Appointment!
I absolutely loved the idea of adding a little mystery to the bridal experience.
One appointment in our diary was secretly marked as golden. Nobody knew which one it was, and we weren't giving away any clues!
It was lovely seeing the interest it created, and I was delighted when our very first Golden Appointment was discovered.
A huge congratulations again to Charlotte, who found October's special appointment!
But here's the exciting bit…
We're doing it all over again in November!
There's something quite lovely about adding a little unexpected surprise to someone's day, especially when they're already celebrating such an exciting chapter of their life.
And who doesn't love a little mystery?
Prom 2027… It's Already Getting Exciting!
Now, I know some people will be thinking, "Prom? Already? We've only just got over the last one!"
But believe me, prom preparations start much earlier than you might imagine.
Our Prom School Takeover has certainly kept us busy, and it's been wonderful seeing the response from schools and families across Wiltshire, Dorset, somerset and beyond
What I particularly love about prom season is how different everyone's tastes are.
Some girls have known exactly what colour and style they want for years. Others walk through the door convinced they'll never wear a particular colour, only to fall completely in love with it!
And let's not forget the boys. Choosing the right suit can be just as exciting, especially when they start experimenting with different colours, styles and accessories.
Prom is such an important milestone. It's a celebration of friendships, achievements and the end of one chapter before the next adventure begins.
I still love hearing the excitement when someone finds their perfect outfit.
And with more schools getting involved, I'm looking forward to meeting lots more of our 2027 prom-goers over the coming months.
Something Special for Our Brides This November
One thing I've always believed is that choosing your wedding dress should be an experience, not just another job to tick off your wedding planning list.
It should be exciting, relaxed and something you remember for all the right reasons.

We've created these especially for brides who are still searching for their wedding dress.
Sometimes life is so busy that finding time to enjoy the experience can be difficult. Between work, family, wedding planning and everything else, it's easy to feel like you're constantly rushing.
So we thought, why not do something a little different?
An evening to enjoy a glass of complimentary fizz, discover beautiful dresses, ask questions and soak up a little bridal inspiration.
No rushing, no pressure, just an opportunity to enjoy the experience.
Because finding your wedding dress should be one of the lovely parts of getting married.
Behind the Scenes… My Brain Never Switches Off!
Those who know me will probably laugh at this next bit.
I always seem to have another idea!
We recently had so much fun putting together our 5 Days, 5 Offers promotion, and it got us thinking about what else we could do to make things a little more interesting.
Not everything has to be about offers or discounts.
Sometimes it's simply about having fun, starting conversations, making people smile or doing something a little unexpected.
We've been working on more interactive content, funny little dilemmas and questions that I think quite a few brides, prom girls and parents will relate to.
Because let's face it, planning a wedding or getting ready for prom isn't always glamorous!
There are the funny moments, the disagreements over outfits, the endless opinions from family members and those times when you wonder whether everyone else has completely lost the plot!
Sometimes you've just got to laugh.
And that's something I want to bring more of to our social media.
A little less seriousness and a lot more personality.
The Christmas Party Season Is Almost Here!
Now, I did promise myself I wouldn't start talking about Christmas too early…
But November means we're getting very close!
The Christmas parties, family celebrations, work nights out and New Year's Eve plans will soon be filling everyone's diaries.
And after spending so much of the year concentrating on weddings and proms, it's lovely to see people choosing outfits simply because they want to dress up and enjoy themselves.
Whether you're someone who loves all the sparkle or prefers something simple and elegant, there's something special about getting ready for a festive celebration.

And Speaking of Christmas… Something Mischievous Is Coming!
Now, this is where things might get interesting.
We've been putting together a few ideas for December, and I have a feeling things could get a little chaotic here in the boutique.
I'm not going to give too much away just yet, but let's just say that Christmas might bring a few unexpected visitors to Not Just Brides! 👀
And from what I've heard, they might not be particularly well behaved!
There could be a little mischief, a few surprises and perhaps even something for our followers to get involved with.
I really shouldn't say any more than that.
You'll have to wait and see!
A Little Thank You From Me
Before I finish, I want to say something that I probably don't say often enough.
Thank you.
Running an independent boutique is about so much more than dresses, suits and appointments.
It's about the people.
The brides who trust us to be part of one of the biggest days of their lives.
The teenagers who arrive feeling nervous and leave smiling because they've found something they love.
The mums, dads, grandparents, friends and partners who come along to share those moments.
And of course, everyone who supports us online.
Every comment, share, recommendation and lovely message genuinely means so much.
Small businesses rely on their communities, and I'm incredibly grateful for the support we continue to receive here in Westbury and beyond.
Looking Towards December…
So, as November gets underway, there's plenty to look forward to.
More lovely brides, more prom preparations, another Golden Appointment, our Bridal Designer Event and a whole lot of planning behind the scenes.
And then there's December…
I have a feeling that might be one of our most entertaining months yet!
For now, I'm going to finish my tea, get back to my ever-growing list of things to do and try not to come up with another five ideas before lunchtime!
Although, knowing me, that's probably wishful thinking.
Whatever November has in store for you, I hope it's filled with lovely moments, a little excitement and plenty of reasons to smile.
And remember, sometimes the smallest surprises make the loveliest memories.
